Moderated by New York Times bestseller and Caldecott Honor-winner John Rocco, this is a virtual event that the entire family can enjoy.

Scott Kelly is a former military fighter pilot and test pilot, an engineer, a retired astronaut, and a retired U.S. Navy captain. A veteran of four space flights, Kelly commanded the International Space Station on three expeditions and was a member of the yearlong mission to the ISS. During the Year in Space mission, he set records for the total accumulated number of days spent in space and for the single longest space mission by an American astronaut. He is also the author of the children’s books My Journey to the Stars and Endurance: Young Readers Edition, the young reader edition of his adult bestseller Endurance.
Mike Massimino served as a NASA astronaut from 1996 to 2014. A veteran of two space flights to the Hubble Space Telescope, Mike and his crews set team records for spacewalking time, and he became the first person to tweet from space. He has played himself on the CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” was featured in the IMAX film “Hubble 3D,” and has appeared frequently in television documentaries and on late-night talk shows and news programs. A graduate of Columbia University and MIT, Mike lives in New York City, where he is a professor at Columbia and an advisor at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Mike is the author of Spaceman: The True Story of a Young Boy’s Journey to Becoming an Astronaut the young readers edition of his adult bestseller Spaceman.
John Rocco is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of many acclaimed books for children, including Blackout, recipient of the Caldecott Honor. Rocco has illustrated the covers for Rick Riordan’s internationally bestselling series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, and The Trials of Apollo. He also created the illustrations for the #1 New York Times bestsellers Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods and Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes. Before making children’s books, Rocco spent many years as creative director for Walt Disney Imagineering.
