Look for Mars in the night sky after 9:00 pm. Look for a reddish-orange dot in the East sky. Mars is visible now and will be at its brightest October 4 – October 17. It will arrive at opposition on October 13. Opposition occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Mars are all in a straight line, with Earth being in the middle.
